First WERA HF Ocean Radars

Helzel Messtechnik will present its unique WERA land-based ocean radar, which has been designed to provide high-resolution ocean current maps for ranges of >200km (124 miles) offshore, along with significant wave height and directional wave spectra. The first installations were completed in January 2018.
Pertinent to the needs of the oil and gas industry, the WERA radar offers real-time and forecast information to guarantee efficient day-to-day planning.
Data gathered by WERA is easy to access and is displayed via the WERA DataViewer and DataManager. This enables offshore project teams to make decisions on an informed basis to reduce uncertainty in engineering specifications, reduce operational risk and costs, and enhance safety and efficiency.
