European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts
Discover how the European Commission’s flagship Earth observation program, Copernicus, is addressing environmental requirements and helping decision makers respond to climate change challenges.
The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) will use its presence at the expo to showcase Coperinicus’s activity. The observation program constantly monitors Earth’s climate and atmosphere, and gives access to free, accurate, open-source data to policy makers, public authorities, businesses, citizens and scientists alike.
ECMWF implements the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), providing support to the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS).
C3S combines observations of the climate system with the latest science to develop quality-assured information about past, current and future states of the climate in Europe and worldwide. CAMS provides continuous data and information, including daily forecasts, on the composition of our atmosphere from the ground up to the stratosphere.
