International Training Course on Marine Meteorological Disaster Prevention and Mitigation for Indian Ocean Countries came to ZOGLAB

From June 17 to 21, 2025, the International Training Course on Marine Meteorological Disaster Prevention and Mitigation for Indian Ocean Countries, a project of the National International Development Cooperation Agency, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the Meteorological Cadre Training Institute (International Cooperation and Training Center) of the China Meteorological Administration, carried out a week-long teaching activity in Hangzhou. The course visited various business units of the Zhejiang Meteorological Bureau, the Zhejiang Marine Monitoring and Forecasting Center, and ZOGLAB to learn in depth the local advanced experience in marine meteorological monitoring, forecasting, services and research.
34 officials and technicians from six countries including Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Egypt, Malaysia, Thailand, Mauritius and other fields of meteorology, hydrology, environment, disaster management and other fields visited ZOGLAB and inspected meteorological instrument such as mobile observation, social observation, laboratory measurement, and mobile measurement.
The training class members listened to the on-site explanation of ZOGLAB's detection cases in different extreme meteorological environments such as the Amazon jungle, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Taklimakan Desert, and typhoon landing, the application of ZOGLAB meteorological instrument in many countries along the "Belt and Road", and the progress of the AWS1600 six-parameter meteorological station global joint test plan in more than ten countries. The on-site trainees frequently praised and exchanged the applicability of different equipment in disaster prevention and mitigation work from the practical application level of various countries.
