Traverse City, MI— R.M. Young Company, a leading manufacturer of precision meteorological instruments, is pleased to announce the acquisition of SensorLogic, the creator of SNOdar, an advanced snow depth sensor. This strategic acquisition enhances R.M. Young Company's product offerings, providing innovative solutions for snow and ice removal, solar panel maintenance, ski area management, and snow science applications.

The SNOdar is renowned for its accurate and robust monitoring of snow depth and new snowfall, even during winter storm events. It is one of the only snow depth sensors that utilizes LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to provide accurate snow depth measurements. This high-precision method allows the SNOdar to create detailed, real-time snow depth data, ensuring reliable and efficient snow monitoring for a variety of applications. The SNOdar is also the only snow depth sensor that calculates an estimated snow water equivalent (SWE) value.

The SNOdar sensor can be set up to operate as a distance sensor, storm-board snowfall sensor, or a seasonal snow depth sensor. A powerful mobile app allows the user to quickly configure and deploy the unit as well as monitor real-time data when within Bluetooth range.

The SNOdar features real-time data transmission via serial RS-232 or SDI-12 interfaces, compatibility with various telemetry systems, and an internal data logger capable of storing an entire season's data. Its compact, lightweight design ensures durability in harsh winter conditions, operating efficiently at temperatures as low as -40°C. With low power consumption averaging less than 0.5 watts, the SNOdar is ideal for remote deployments using minimal power sources.

Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, SensorLogic specializes in developing radar-based remote sensing solutions that transform physical activity into actionable data. With almost two decades of expertise, the company offers sensors tailored for resource management and infrastructure utilization, serving industries such as industrial, environmental, medical, and consumer sectors. SensorLogic's commitment to innovation and quality has attracted a diverse clientele, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging startups.

"We are thrilled to partner with R.M. Young Company," said Doug Roberts, Founder of SensorLogic. "This collaboration presents a fantastic opportunity to integrate our snow depth and snow water equivalent technology with the expertise of such a respected company. I’m excited to unite our teams and resources to deliver innovative monitoring solutions that address the challenges of a changing climate."

Eric Mannix, President and CFO of R.M. Young Company, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "Integrating SNOdar into our product line aligns with our commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in meteorological instrumentation. This addition allows us to offer our customers cutting-edge solutions for accurate snow measurement, meeting the evolving needs of various industries."

The incorporation of SNOdar into R.M. Young Company's suite of products underscores the company's dedication to providing high-quality, reliable instruments for environmental monitoring. Clients will benefit from the enhanced capabilities this acquisition brings.
