André Weipert brings over 25 years of experience at LEONARDO Germany, where he has held a series of leadership roles across engineering, program management, and operations. He began his career as Head of Meteorological Solutions (2000–2021), leading the design and deployment of advanced meteorological software solutions in more than 80 countries worldwide. From 2012 to 2022, he also oversaw numerous national and international research initiatives. Between 2010 and 2019, he served as SESAR Program Manager, contributing to the European Commission’s Single European Sky ATM Research program. In 2022, he was appointed to Director of Engineering, and since 2024, he serves as executive Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the full scope of LEONARDO Germany’s civil and military operations. His current focus is on aligning operations with strategic business objectives, and driving innovation through (1) the fostering of dual-use technologies for civil and defense applications, (2) the industrialization and series production of tactical solutions, (3) the digital transformation of LEONARDO Germany’s solution portfolio.
