A key element of Early Warning Systems is the ability to predict when and where dangerous weather conditions will occur. Global models provide a broad sense of timing and location, but are not the best tools for alerting communities. High resolution regional models are more precise, giving you a more accurate prediction of impending dangerous conditions. Baron partners with Hydromet agencies around the world to assist them with a WRF model that can be coupled with a hydrological model or allow for disseminated radar data to improve short-term model accuracy. Take control of your weather model tools by partnering with Baron Weather and deploying your own high-resolution model.

Participants will have an better understanding of how local model data are essential for Early Warning Systems to produce quality and localized notifications. The session will also share ways that NWP models can be combined with other model systems to increase the value of the local model.
