The "First Mile’ of data collection refers to the transmission of environmental data from various sources [smart sensors, data loggers, external providers] to national Data Collection & Processing Systems. A joint Task Team between HMEI and WMO has been established to define a standard solution (protocol and data format). After a year of activity, the group has now started a Proof of Concept.
