Operational and Environmental Sustainability of Observing Systems
Zimbabwe’s observing network has expanded significantly, but sustaining reliable observations requires more than equipment deployment. This presentation examines an operational resilience approach combining structured three-tier maintenance, local technical capability and energy resilience. It highlights parallel observations, 3D-PAWS deployment and radar solarisation, showing how these measures support observing continuity, reduce operational vulnerabilities and strengthen the contribution of the network to GBON, WIS 2.0 and Early Warnings for All.
