Ensuring measurement quality through standardization, traceability, instrument maintenance and calibration
The GCOS Reference Upper Air Network (GRUAN) provides highly accurate, traceable and long-term observations of the atmosphere that are essential for climate monitoring and the validation of satellite and model products. This presentation will highlight GRUAN’s contribution to the Global Observing System, focusing on recent developments in upper-air measurements, improvement of the time series stability, satellite validation and atmospheric renalaysis evaluation.
