Research on the Traceability Chain Technology of Measurement and Calibration Values for All Observation Elements of China Meteorological Administration
The CMA operates nearly 100,000 instruments of >340 types, observing >100 elements from surface to space, generating 15 TB of data daily. Ensuring accuracy and global comparability of these data requires a complete metrological traceability chain linking every in situ measurement to SI base units. This presentation categorises CMA’s observation equipment into 22 traceability frameworks: 11 are fully established for conventional surface parameters (temperature, pressure, humidity, wind, precipitation, radiation, etc.), while another 11 are under development for remote sensing and novel systems (radars, lidars, radiometers, GNSS/MET, etc.). The goal is to provide a solid quality assurance foundation for weather forecasting and climate services.
