Increasing demand for frequency spectrum from mass-market radio applications (e.g. satellite mega-constellations and 5G/6G mobile networks) is placing growing pressure on frequency bands used by meteorological systems, raising concerns regarding their long-term availability and protection.
This presentation is aimed at highlighting current RFI issues and emerging potential challenges on the meteorological community in view of the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27).
