SOLYX 14 Measure accurate water content and pore water EC with revolutionary CDX technology
METER Group released the SOLYX 14 CDX soil moisture sensor in 2026. This sensor measures volumetric water content, soil temperature, dielectric permittivity, and pore water electrical conductivity.
Developed by METER scientists, Complex Dielectric through intersection, or CDX, is a patented capacitance/frequency-domain technology that makes accurate measurement of VWC, EC, and soil temperature possible in soil, substrates, and porous material across a wide range of salinities and temperatures. By measuring complex dielectric permittivity, SOLYX sensors independently measure both the real dielectric permittivity (related to water content) and the imaginary dielectric permittivity (which is influenced by salts and lossy clays).
The sensor is also designed to withstand a wider range of challenging applications. Thick, stainless-steel needles stand up to hard or rocky soils. A heavy-duty cable and an epoxy fill provide peace of mind that your data is safe from interruption by curious animals or other complications.
