LAP®3000 Radar Wind Profiler

Executing a service and support contract through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Scintec provided four (4) LAP®3000 Radar Wind Profilers in support of the Juneau Airport Wind System (JAWS) technical refresh in Juneau, AK. The scope of performance included one (1) profiler installed at the FAA Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, OK and the remaining three (3) profilers for the Juneau Airport Wind System (JAWS) system technical sustainment.

The Juneau Airport Wind System (JAWS), consists of a network of wind sensors (anemometers) and wind profilers around the Gastineau Channel and the Juneau airport. The purpose is to provide research data to determine if wind shear and turbulence can be predicted in and around the Juneau International Airport area.
