Meteomatics’ Meteodrones and Meteobase ground stations capture high-precision vertical atmospheric profiles up to six kilometers, filling critical data gaps in the lower atmosphere. Delivered through a combined Drone as a Service (DaaS) and Data as a Service model, the system automates launching, charging, and remote piloting to stream real-time, hyper-local weather intelligence directly to operators. This pioneering technology is demonstrated through Meteomatics’ work with NOAA in Oklahoma, where autonomous drone deployments supply high-frequency soundings to the National Weather Service to enhance severe weather forecasting.
