The Rotating Universal Radiometer (RUR) measures
land-atmosphere interactions. It is an autonomously calibrating sensor; it
operates without any user interventions. The RUR enables high vertical
resolution of the temperature and humidity profiles within the planetary boundary
layer. Comparing to commercially available sensors, it can improve the
temperature profile root mean square error by 90%, humidity by 40%, integrated
water vapor by 65% under cloudy conditions.
BEST has also developed a deployable reflector antenna with over 95%
efficiency up to 100 GHz. Our unique approach to radio frequency
interference detection can make observations even in the today’s challenging radio
interference conditions.
