Meteorological Technology World Expo 2025 Achieves Record-Breaking Attendance in a Non-TECO Year

Meteorological Technology World Expo 2025 Achieves Record-Breaking Attendance in a Non-TECO Year

The world’s leading event for the entire meteorological industry, returned to VIECON - Vienna Congress & Convention Centre, Austria on 1-2 October 2025, bringing together a record number of 1000+ meteorology professionals that support aviation, marine, energy, agriculture, emergency services, and more.

The three-day conference was attended by meteorologists, hydrologists, climatologists, engineers, research scientists, policy advisors, and many others who came together to discover the latest technologies in weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and environmental measurement; to debate industry challenges; and to explore solutions that can drive both technical and commercial progress.

International participation was strong, featuring representatives from major organizations including the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)UK Met OfficeFinnish Meteorological InstituteCanada’s Department of National Defence, the Tanzania Meteorological Authority, and many others from across the globe.

Rob Chapman, Commercial Director of Meteorological Technology World Expo, said: “The feedback we’ve received from this year’s Meteorological Technology World Expo has been outstanding. To see record growth in both visitor numbers and quality for a non-TECO year is a fantastic achievement and reinforces the Expo’s status as the must-attend global event for meteorological and hydromet professionals.”

Ercan Buyukbas, Scientific Officer, WMO, said: “I think this Expo is a very important and unique opportunity for both manufacturers and users to come together, to see the new developments, new technologies, and what the industry is doing. In particular, we are very interested in measurements and calibration - in equipment as well as in situ and remote-sensing observations - and it’s really great to see most of the manufacturers here at the Expo. It’s a really great show, and I think everyone attending will benefit a lot from it. It’s very useful for both users and manufacturers.”

Highlights across the three days included a dynamic conference program developed in collaboration with many of our exhibitors and industry partners, including VaisalaMeteoblueBaron WeatherAccuWeather, and more. Sessions covered a wide range of topics, from high-resolution forecasting and AI-driven modelling to calibration, remote sensing, and climate resilience. Engaging panel discussions examined ways to simplify data publication to improve reuse, maximize returns on investments in remote data collection, and foster collaborative decision-making in line with the WMO Unified Data Policy - pointing to a positive outlook for the future of meteorological and hydromet data.

The next edition of the Meteorological Technology World Expo will be a TECO year, held in partnership with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), which takes place bi-annually. For 2026, the Expo will move to the RAI in Amsterdam, continuing its tradition of bringing together the global meteorological and hydromet community to explore innovations, share knowledge, and drive progress across the industry.
