Ph.D. Candidate in Defense Engineering / Weather Radar Engineer,
Military Institute of Engineering (IME) / Rio de Janeiro State Environment Institute (INEA)
Elton John Robaina Da Silva is a weather radar engineer and Ph.D. candidate at the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), Brazil. He works with hydrometeorological monitoring at the Rio de Janeiro State Environment Institute (INEA), focusing on quality control of weather radar and rain gauge observations. His research covers high-resolution hydrometeorological data, radar–rain gauge integration, quantitative precipitation estimation, and short-term rainfall forecasting. His work aims to improve the reliability of rainfall information used in operational monitoring and flood-warning systems, particularly during intense convective events.
