Mehdi Ben Slama holds an MSc with honors in Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics from Imperial College London, where he specialised in geophysical fluid dynamics, as well as an Advanced Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from ISAE-SUPAERO. His interdisciplinary background combines mathematical modelling, physics, AI, and computer vision, with a particular focus on applications to Earth and atmospheric sciences. At Reuniwatt, his work focuses on the retrieval of cloud microphysical properties from sensor measurements and infrared imagery. He investigates the potential of AI and statistical methods, combined with physical modelling and computer vision, to improve the calibration and performance of Sky InSight infrared cameras. His responsibilities also include ensuring that measurements and forecasts meet the high metrological standards required by Reuniwatt’s clients. As part of this work, he continuously monitors advances in cloud meteorology and emerging technologies, with the aim of translating scientific developments into robust, operational solutions for atmospheric observation and weather forecasting.
