With academic training and degrees in physics and mathematics, he has participated in technology and product development processes at Vaisala Oyj, contributing to the creation of commercially successful products for industrial applications and for remote and in situ weather sensing. Most recently, he developed the Vaisala PRECICAP technology utilized in the Vaisala RM60 precipitation sensor. He is an author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in low-temperature physics, particle physics, accelerator technology, and meteorological sensing. He is also an inventor in several patent families.
