Lead Scientist on Aircraft Derived Data and Assimilation,
Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI)
Siebren was educated as a pure mathematician in Dynamical Systems and Chaos Theory at University of Groningen. In 2008 he got his PhD in meteorology at the Wageningen University on the use of GNSS delays in meteorology.
Since 2011 he is involved in Aircraft Derived data and developed the algorithms to estimate wind and temperature from Aircraft Surveillance data.
