Wolfgang Finsterle studied astro- and particle physics at ETH Zürich, where he also earned his PhD. He is an expert in instrumentation and data analysis and has published mostly in the fields of helioseismology and solar irradiance. He is responsible for the maintenance and dissemination of the World Radiometeric Reference (WRR) as well as a Principal Investigator on several space missions to measure total solar irradiance.
